How far in advance should I book Next Nest's moving services?

We recommend booking as soon as possible to ensure availability, especially during peak moving seasons. However, we can often accommodate last-minute bookings depending on our schedule.

Does Next Nest offer insurance for my belongings during the move?

Yes, we offer basic valuation coverage for your belongings during the move. We also offer additional insurance options for an additional fee.

How long does it typically take to complete a move with Next Nest?

The time it takes to complete a move depends on the size of the move, distance, and services required. We can provide an estimated timeline during the booking process.

What areas do you serve?

Prairieville, Baton Rouge, Ascension Parish, East Baton Rouge Parish, New Orleans, Metairie, and nearby.

What are your hourly rates?

Two movers $148/hr. Three movers with box truck $176/hr. Four movers with box truck $204/hr. See our Pricing page for details.

Is there a service charge or deposit?

Yes. Local moves include a seasonal service charge. Your deposit equals that charge. See Pricing for current amounts.

How do travel fees work?

“Travel” is time driving the truck. Long-distance adds a travel fee at the hourly rate. If drop-off is over 1 hour away, a return rate may apply at half the return time.

Do you handle out-of-state moves?

Yes. We require an on-site estimate. Charges can include labor, a travel rate that starts at $93/hr for 2 men (+$25/hr per extra mover), daily truck rate, fuel, and lodging when needed.

Do you offer packing and unpacking?

Yes. Packing is an add-on priced at $10/hr less than our labor rate. Unpacking is available at the labor rate without the truck.

How do you protect furniture and floors?

We pad and wrap furniture as needed and protect walls and banisters. White Glove includes floor protection too.

Can you mount TVs or move heavy safes?

Yes. TV mounting is $50 per TV. We can winch heavy items like safes. Tell us the weight, dimensions, and access.

What happens if bad weather or unexpected conditions occur on move day?

We always build contingencies into our plans. If weather or access issues arise, we’ll communicate with you immediately, adjust the timeline safely, and reschedule if needed.

What measures do you take to protect my home during the move?

We use floor runners, furniture pads, protective blankets, hand trucks/dollies and follow safe handling protocols to prevent damage to floors, walls, and items — especially when navigating stairs or narrow spaces.

What if my schedule changes or I need to cancel?

We understand plans can shift. We ask for as much notice as possible. Cancellation or rescheduling policies will be outlined in your estimate or agreement so you’re not caught by surprise.

Do you work with subcontractors or only in-house crews?

We use trained in-house crews for most jobs to ensure consistency, accountability and quality. If subcontractors are ever used, we disclose that upfront so you can decide with full transparency.

Are there any items you won’t move?

Yes — for safety and liability reasons, we don’t move hazardous or prohibited items. We’ll review any questionable items when you request an estimate.
